Damar Hamlin is reported to be in attendance at Highmark Stadium for the Bills’ super wild-card meeting with the Dolphins on Sunday.
The Associated Press, citing a source with knowledge of Hamlin’s schedule, reported the Buffalo safety will make his gameday return at Orchard Park, N.Y., after getting released from a Buffalo hospital on Wednesday. The 24-year-old is still recovering from cardiac arrest following a scary collapse at Cincinnati’s Paycor Stadium on Jan. 2. That game ultimately was canceled in an unprecedented move by the NFL.
Hamlin was at the center of an untold number of tributes from across the sports world and beyond, and his recovery from the injury has been closely followed and celebrated. That was especially true in the Bills’ Week 18 victory over the Patriots, which secured the 2 seed for Buffalo.

Buffalo honored Hamlin and the medical staff before the game. Hamlin watched the AFC East meeting from a hospital bed with his family, reacting in real time to an emotional game-opening kickoff return for touchdown by Nyheim Hines, which justifiably sent Highmark Stadium into a frenzy.
Now Hamlin, who has already reunited with teammates (via linebacker Matt Milano), will reportedly be able to watch Sunday’s game against the Dolphins in person. It will be his first public appearance since the scary events that unfolded on the Week 17 “Monday Night Football” game against the Bengals.
That’s cause for celebration throughout the sports world, regardless of rooting interests.
