Sisters Anna ‘Supergirl’ Jaroonsak and Nat ‘Wondergirl’ Jaroonsak are about as close as siblings can get. They share the same interests, they regularly know what the other one is thinking. They also just happen to be two of the best strikers in ONE Championship’s stacked women’s division.
Just hours before her return to the Circle at ONE Fight Night 6 on Prime Video this Friday, Anna Jaroonsak detailed the close relationship she has with her older sister in an interview with ONE Championship:
“We are sisters forever. We have been close since childhood. We like to do the same things. We can talk about anime all day. And in training, we’re in sync as if we can read each other’s thoughts. She always stands by me.”
Both women entered ONE competing in the art of eight limbs. ‘Wondergirl’ eventually made the transition to MMA where she earned a win in her debut, scoring an 82-second submission over Zeba Bano at ONE 157. Younger sister ‘Supergirl’ is still navigating the world of Muay Thai and is scheduled to make her third walk to the Circle this Friday night against Ekaterina ‘Barbie’ Vandaryeva.
Fans in North America can see Anna Jaroonsak’s return to action live and for free on Amazon Prime Video.
‘Supergirl’ learned Muay Thai from studying her sister’s movements
With a four-year head start on her younger sister, Nat ‘Wondergirl’ Jaroonsak developed many of the skills that were eventually handed down to Anna ‘Supergirl’ Jaroonsak as she began her own pursuit to become a Muay Thai superstar. Discussing the impact her older sister has had on her combat sports career, Anna Jaroonsak said:
“My sister is my role model and inspiration to be a Muay Thai fighter. When I started practicing Muay Thai, my father told me to learn all the movements from my sister. Observing her movements gave me a better understanding of Muay Thai.”
Now 19 years old, ‘Supergirl’ has already established herself as one of the best strawweight fighters in ONE Championship, but is far from done following in her sister’s footsteps:
“I want to compete in MMA like her, too, but I’m still inexperienced right now. It will take some time.”
Before Anna Jaroonsak can look to the world of mixed martial arts, she’ll first need to deal with dangerous Russian striker Ekaterina ‘Barbie’ Vandaryeva this Friday night at ONE Fight Night 6.
