remier League football returned on Friday night as the latest round of fixtures began with Aston Villa edging past Leeds United.
The weekend is bookended by the two biggest derbies in English football as Manchester United host champions Manchester City in the Saturday lunchtime kick-off, before league leaders Arsenal travel to Tottenham in the final game on Sunday afternoon. Two huge derbies in both the title battle and race to finish in the top four.
In between, a busy Saturday schedule sees four 3pm games, with Liverpool at Brighton, Wolves hosting West Ham, Leicester visiting Nottingham Forest and relegation candidates Everton and Southampton facing off at Goodison Park. Brentford welcome Bournemouth to the capital in the evening game.
Sunday’s two early games are intriguing encounters as struggling Chelsea desperately need a win against London rivals Crystal Palace as Newcastle will be looking to beat Fulham at the same time.
