Manchester United are looking to end the year with a bang as they prepare to take on Wolves but one eye will also be on the opening of the January transfer window to kickstart 2023.
The Red Devils know strengthening their squad will give them a better chance of making the top four this season and a number of targets have already been identified. One position, in particular, is at right-back, although there also remains a strong urgency to bolster attacking options and sign a new striker.
Mirror Football takes a look at all the latest transfer stories coming out of Old Trafford…
United step up Juranovic interest
Erik ten Hag is intent on signing a new right back in January and Man United could be about to make a genuine move for Celtic’s Josip Juranovic.
The defender played a starring role for Croatia as they claimed third-place at the 2022 World Cup this winter and Ten Hag is now keen to add him to his ranks in order to provide added competition for Diogo Dalot.
That’s according to Tuttomercatoweb, who claim that United will battle Chelsea for Juranovic’s signature. However, the biggest challenge could be convincing the 27-year-old to join as back-up to Dalot, meaning the Red Devils will certainly have their work cut out.

Vlahovic ‘tempted’ by United move
In-demand Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic would be ‘tempted’ by a move to Man United in the January transfer window, according to reports.
The Serbian hitman is being targeted by a number of clubs, including Arsenal and Chelsea, following claims that Juventus could be forced into selling him to ease their financial woes. To add to that, United are also desperate to add to their striking options.
And according to Calciomercato, Vlahovic is a ‘top target’ for the Red Devils as they look for a short-term fix until the summer and it is said that the Serbian would be ‘tempted’ to make the switch to Old Trafford.
United won’t renew Arnautovic interest
Man United will not renew their interest in Bologna and Austria striker Marko Arnautovic in January after attempting to sign him during the summer.
The former Stoke and West Ham forward was a surprise target for Ten Hag but the Dutchman was keen on bringing someone of Arnautovic’s personality and character to the dressing room at Old Trafford, although a deal failed to materialise.
And although there have been rumours of United returning for the Austrian, ESPN claim that the Red Devils ‘have all but ruled out renewing their interest’ in Arnautovic ahead of next month.
