YouTube star Jake Paul banned from attending Paddy Pimblett's UFC fight

YouTube boxer Jake Paul won’t be able to attend Paddy Pimblett’s fight at UFC 282 tonight in Las Vegas after being banned from the promotion’s events.

The YouTuber-turned-fighter has been going back-and-forth with the lightweight prospect over the last few weeks over a prospective sparring match and subsequent bet. But Paul wouldn’t be welcome if he were to leave his Puerto Rican training camp for the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, having been told he can’t attend UFC events.

It wasn’t always the way for Paul, whose brother Logan is close friends with Dana White. He was sat in particularly important seats at UFC 261 in Florida last year, and was ringside again for Conor McGregor’s trilogy bout with Dustin Poirier in the same venue as tonight’s show at UFC 264.

But he has since been told not to attend UFC shows amid a lengthy feud with Dana White, telling Israel Adesanya during a recent episode of his podcast BS with Jake Paul that he is now banned. “Dana banned me after they were yelling f*** Jake Paul in the stadium, then I tried to go to a different fight and all of our tickets were declined. His assistant was like ‘get the f*** out of here’, and then escorted me out of the event,” he said.

The younger Paul brother is not popular in the MMA world, having made enemies of a number of top stars during his foray into the fighting world over the past four years. He has fought and defeated legendary world champions Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley and Anderson Silva in the boxing ring, and taunted a number of other icons in his boxing run.

He and Pimblett have recently being trying to agree terms for a sparring session, which the YouTuber wants to take place at his training base in Puerto Rico. The Scouse fighter, who takes on Jared Gordon in tonight’s UFC 282 main event, wants Paul to come to the UFC Performance Institute, but the social media star has recently returned to his intensive training camp and can’t leave.

Paul wants to offer Pimblett $1million if he ‘wins’ the spar, which would take place under boxing rules with five rounds of three minutes. But should he win, the YouTube star insists that his rival joins his new fighter’s union, and helps to promote it to other fighters in the UK.
