Charlie Woods; Son of Tiger Woods. His name is being mentioned more and more, even though he is only 13 years old. Charlie will have the opportunity to perform with his father at the PNC Championship and that is what many are looking forward to.
Golf fans are wondering if Charlie can become as big as his father?! Such questions certainly put pressure on a 13-year-old boy, but he will have to learn to deal with it. Even now, Charlie looks a lot like his father, and that’s what makes us happy.
Tiger Woods often advises his son and tries to guide him on the right path. That was the case this time as well. “I told [Charlie], ‘don’t copy my swing, copy Rory’s,’” Woods said during the third round of the Hero World Challenge, as quoted by golfmonthly.com.
“Have you ever seen Rory off balance in a shot?” Woods asked NBC Sports golf commentators Dan Hicks and Paul Azinger. Tiger Woods also listened to his father’s advice, which he now applies. Charlie will learn a lot!
“Not ever. That’s one of the things my dad instilled in me, is that you should be able to balance and hold your finish until the ball rolls and stops. You can swing as hard as you want, but you need to have balance”.
Tiger Woods and mental games
Woods also talked about the mental games he wants to use to ‘strengthen’ his son. “It’s non-stop, non-stop,” said Woods about distracting his son, as quoted by golfmonthly.com.
“It’s trying to get him – if I can get into his head, that means someone else can get into his head. It’s going to get to a point where I can’t get into his head, and then no one else can get in there either. That’s what my dad believed. You’ve got to be willing to take it.”
