Roger Federer, a 20-time Grand Slam champion, left Nike in 2018 to sign a 10-year deal with Uniqlo. When Federer signed his 10-year deal with Uniqlo, it was clear that he would be well retired by the time his deal expired. Four years later, Federer is a former player but still fulfilling his duties as a Uniqlo ambassador.
Federer, who was one of the most beloved tennis players throughout his entire career, is now in Tokyo, where Japanese tennis fans have the opportunity to see and meet the Swiss tennis legend. Shortly after the US Open ended, Federer revealed his plans to retire after the Laver Cup.
At the end of September, Federer retired from professional tennis by competing in the Laver Cup in London. In his last match, Federer teamed up with his old rival Rafael Nadal. As Federer and Nadal competed together on court, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray supported them from the Team Europe bench.

Even now that he has retired, his legacy is going to be there for many decades and generations to come. Not only has he accomplished a lot on the court, he has inspired many young players to pick up a racket. Now there are many top players who talk about him, that Roger was his idol.

Kei Nishikori reflects on Federer
The reception Roger Federer received from the crowd at a recent fan event in Tokyo left Kei Nishikori. “I was overwhelmed by the atmosphere and also my admiration for him. After that I’ve started considering him an opponent to beat though he is my idol,” Nishikori said.
