Serbian tennis player Filip Krajinovic has announced that he has added former world No 8 Janko Tipsarevic to his coaching staff for the 2023 season. Krajinovic, 30, and 38-year-old Tipsarevic are teaming up for the second time as they also worked together in 2020.

At the start of the 2020 season – before the pandemic suspended the season – Krajinovic made back-to-back semifinals in Montpellier and Rotterdam. When the 2020 season resumed, Krajinovic made the Cincinnati Masters quarterfinal – it should be noted that the 2020 Cincinnati Masters edition was held at Flushing Meadows, New York.

“Janko and I have known each other for a long time, and when we ended our partnership, we remained on good terms and did not close the door to renewing our partnership in the future. Honestly, in 2020 I played the best tennis of my life, so there was no doubt who would be ideal for the position of my coach in the new season,” Krajinovic told Jelena Medic of Blic.

In 2022, Krajinovic was coached by Dancevic.

This year, Krajinovic finished with a 19-17 record on the main level. Krajinovic had just two notable results this year – finishing runner-up at the Queen’s Club and making the Montpellier semifinal. “I thought a lot, and we all know how hard it is to find a good coach.

Tipsarevic coached a Chinese player last season, and when I heard that he ended his partnership with her, I decided to ask him to renew our partnership. I am really very happy about that and I am ready to prepare as much as possible for the next season.

The focus is absolutely on tennis in my life now,” Krajinovic added. After reaching the Queen’s final, Krajinovic was 2-4 in the rest of his season. Krajinovic last played at the US Open, where he was beaten by Alex de Minaur in the first round.
