Jon DeChambeau died at the age of 63 after a battle with kidney disease. Jon is the father of the famous Bryson DeChambeau. Bryson confirmed his father’s death on social media. These are difficult times for the DeChambeau family, and there are many messages of condolence.
“I’m sad to see you go but you’ve been through way too much pain in this life. I’m so happy you are at peace. Now you get to be with me and watch me at every event I play”. – he wrote on social media.
Fresno State golf coach Mike Watney wanted to donate a kidney to Jon a few years ago. Since they were not compatible, Watney donated to someone else. DeChambeau praised his action; “You go from a handshake to a hug is what’s really happened.
When you see it a friend you shake their hand or kind of say hey to them. When you see somebody that gave you life you hug them and tell them you love them.”
Off topic: Bryson DeChambeau and the PGA Tour
By the way, a few weeks ago, Bryson DeChambeau expressed his frustrations, considering that the PGA Tour still owes him some money.
DeChambeau should have received bonuses for his performances, however, the decision to become part of LIV Golf prevented him from getting what he deserved.
“It’s not about the money; it’s about the principle,” DeChambeau said, as quoted by sports.yahoo.com “It’s the way you deal with situations”.
“They said because you’re not in good standing, we’re not allowing you to do something to help out junior golf and junior golfers,” DeChambeau said. “To me, that’s childish. It just shows where they stand emotionally.
I respect and understand it, but when you’ve completed something and provided entertainment for them last year, that’s the reason I’m in the lawsuit”.
