35 thousand liters of water for the hole in one

From now on, Maria Pia Ambrosoli will think about golf every time she drinks a glass of water. It could not be otherwise seen how much you won at the end of the San Bernardo trophy at Villa d ‘Este. The amateur was in fact rewarded with a whole truckload of water.

Hole in one, record

In May Maria Pia Ambrosoli, in one of the 12 stages of the circuit, scored a hole in one (she holed out with a single shot, ed). A great shot that deserves a great prize. Thus, on the occasion of the final of the competition, the woman was given a truck of water directly by the group’s general manager, Antonio Biella.

It is a truck containing 35 thousand liters of water for a value of over 13 thousand euros. To the winner the burden / honor of choosing the format of the bottles to be delivered home. However, the woman decided to donate part of the water to charity.

The unique award ceremony closed the 2022 season of the San Bernardo trophy. The circuit started on 9 April from Garlenda (Savona) to close in Montorfano (Como) with the great final where the winners of the previous stages challenged each other.

In total, 14,000 players took part. Alberto Pavone triumphed on the green of Como, while in the women’s tournament Stefania Panebianco. The event was attended by Alberto Beretta and Andrea Contigiani, respectively president and director of the Villa d’Este golf club.

The Circolo Golf Villa d’Este is the 7th most historic golf course in Italy, and certainly one or the most recognized in the world. Always the stage of the most prestigious international tournaments, it still holds the record of the Italian club with the highest number of editions of the Italian Open played (12).

To these are added numerous competitions of international amateur championships, both male and female, which since 1932 have contributed to giving prestige to our Club. Designed in 1926 by Peter Gannon, it covers a distance of 5760 meters for a par on the field of 69 shots.

18 holes, studded with carefully designed natural obstacles, which challenge the skill of enthusiasts and professionals, offering an unforgettable experience. A naturalistic and landscape setting among the most evocative in the world: over 30,000 trees – pine, chestnut, birch -, the Prealps in the background and glimpses of Lake Montorfano.
