Jeongeun Lee6 flop, Ally Ewing new leader

The American Ally Ewing succeeded in her moving day unlike Jeongeun Lee6, the mid-tournament leader, author of a card above par on Saturday. Maria Fassi and Xiyu Lin are also in the race. In the aftermath of an exceptional card, it is sometimes very difficult to follow up.

Jeongeun Lee6, results

Jeongeun Lee6 had the bitter experience of it on Saturday. Leader on Friday after a fantastic 63 (-9), the South Korean played 10 strokes over 73 (+1) during the 3rd round. She fell to fourth place on the eve of the last lap, along with Megan Kang, Ariya Jutanugarn and Sarah Kemp.

Four lengths behind this small group, it was Ally Ewing who took control with a solid 67 (-5). The American first started her game with three birdies on the first four holes, before landing three more on the return. Only a bogey at 18 somewhat upset the double winner on the LPGA who points to -16.

Sunday Maria Fassi will certainly be on the attack to hope to win her first career title. The Mexican came back to a head shot thanks also to a beautiful card of 67 (-5) on which appears an eagle at 15. First Thursday evening, second Friday, Xiyu Lin again lost a place this Saturday at the Kenwood Country Club located in Ohio.

After her 70 (-2), the Chinese is now in 3rd place, two shots behind the leader. The three players will start together this Sunday at 3:42 p.m. and the fight for victory promises to be fierce, especially since the 4 pursuers at -12 have not said their last word.

As a reminder, the three French women engaged in Cincinnati (Pauline Roussin-Bouchard, Céline Herbin and Agathe Laisné) were forced to pack up prematurely on Friday after missing the cut. Ally Ewing is an American professional golfer and plays on the LPGA Tour.

McDonald was born in Tupelo, Mississippi and raised in Fulton, Mississippi. He played college golf at Mississippi State University, where he won five events.
