US Open champion Emma Raducanu shared her passion for eating and preparing sushi at a restaurant in New York, but after she asked her supervisor whether she has found a new career, Raducanu got a funny answer. Emma Raducanu took part in a new Wilson video series called Release Valve, which is “a new series that highlights the top players in tennis by showcasing how off-court passions feed on-court dominance”.
One of Raducanu’s passions is eating and preparing salmon. “I can eat salmon every single way,” Raducanu says in the video.
“One thing I like is presentation,” the US Open champion points out as she finishes a plate of sushi. Moreover, Emma Raducanu talked about resilience. “I think resilience is the biggest thing because you have to bounce back from a lot of adversity and just know that you’ve done all of the hard work and got through all of the defeat.
Bouncing back to winning makes it so much more,” Raducanu says. At the end of the video, Raducanu asks her supervisor whether she has good enough skills to make a career out of preparing salmon. The supervisor answered, getting giggles from Emma: “I can’t afford you”.
Raducanu’s passion for cars
A better-known passion of Emma Raducanu’s is cars. Recently, Emma Raducanu achieved another of her life’s ambitions by visiting the Porsche Experience Centre at Silverstone, which is close to the renowned Grand Prix track.
The Grand Slam winner was undeterred by the shifting grip levels of the specialised tracks of the Porsche Experience Centre as she got to know the Porsche 911 Carrera S since she had experience needing to swiftly adjust to a range of playing surfaces when competing on the international WTA Tour.
