‘Those pyramids in Bosnia did not help Novak Djokovic’, says politician

Novak Djokovic’s participation in the US Open 2022 is still shrouded in mystery. The former world number 1 is regularly entered in the last Grand Slam of the season and appears in the list of top seeds (unlike Alexander Zverev), but the rules at the border have not been changed for the moment.

Taking into account that the draw will take place on Thursday 25 August, it is difficult to envisage a regulatory change by that date. The Serbian phenomenon paid dearly for his choice not to vaccinate against the Coronavirus, not having been able to defend the title at the Australian Open at the beginning of the year.

In addition to suffering serious damage to his image, the 35-year-old from Belgrade had to watch helplessly as Rafael Nadal’s triumph in Melbourne Park. Nole lifted her season by triumphing at Wimbledon for the seventh time in her career.

The ‘Djoker’ has thus equaled his idol Pete Sampras and shortened the gap that separates him from Nadal in the all-time rankings of the Majors. Through her Twitter profile, Serbian politician and sociologist Vesna Pesic harshly criticized Djokovic’s stance on the anti-Covid vaccine.

Pesic slams Nole Djokovic

“Novak Djokovic’s not stupid, he’s uneducated, because he’s only been hitting the ball since he was 6 years old. It’s not a sin, he’s achieved success. I have no chance to fight with them either,” Pesic tweeted.

It basically came as a reply to a person commenting on her previous tweet, where she claimed that she herself was a fan of the 21-time Grand Slam champion before questioning when he would protect his body from the vaccine now that he is 35.

“As a well-known Djokovic fan, I wonder when he will protect his body from the vaccine at the age of 35? And those millions who received the vaccine and their bodies are dead cold, he really doesn’t care. When you infect the brain, it’s not very good.

It seems that those pyramids in Bosnia did not help him,” Pesic wrote. As the US Open is finally considering the option of mending its vaccination rules, the matter that first sparked during the Australian Open earlier this year has been reignited.

However, the intensity is much more than earlier as the conflict of interest has taken the form of full-fledged verbal wars. Speaking of Navratilova, she recently got tangled in an argument with a fan on Twitter while denouncing Djokovic’s stance.

After blocking the Djokovic fan, Martina wrote, “Been defending Novak for a long time. Completely disagree on his Covid stance”.
