Czech Masters, Gavin Green the new leader

The second round at D + D Real Czech Masters is on file. On the course of the Albatross Golf Resort in Prague, it is the Malaysian Gavin Green who leaps to the top of the standings halfway through the race.

With a phenomenal 63-stroke round, the best recorded in the tournament to date, Green moved up to a score of -14.

18 holes perfect by the Malaysian, seasoned with 5 birdies and two eagles that allow him to enter the last two days with a three-stroke advantage over the nearest pursuers. Second position shared by the Belgian Thomas Pieters, the German Marcel Schneider and the English Richard Mansell.

For them the score is -11 with which they remain largely in the race to win the title. Fifth place for the German Maximilian Kieffer and the South African Louis de Jager, leader after the first 18 holes. The excellent tournament of Renato Paratore continues and manages to maintain the seventh place reached after the first round.

After yesterday’s -5 comes another excellent lap in -4 that allows the Roman to remain at high altitude with a total score of -9. Nino Bertasio, 27th at -5, and Andrea Pavan, 48th at -3 also pass the cut. On the other hand, Lorenzo Gagli, very subdued, was eliminated.

Gavin Kyle Green (born December 28, 1993) is a golfer from Malaysia. In March 2013, he is number 52 in the world ranking. Gavin started golfing when he was 7 years old. In 2008, then 14-year-old Gavin walked through a glass door.

He nearly lost his nose. A plastic surgeon reattached the nose and after three days he was allowed to leave the hospital. Two weeks later, he played his golf club again and a week later he won the US Kids Teen World Championship at Pinehurst.

Gavin received a full scholarship and entered the University of New Mexico in 2011. He plays college golf and NCAA tournaments. In 2012, he became the first Malaysian in 15 years to win the Malaysian Amateur, earning him 68 points in the world rankings, after which he was in the top-50.

In 2013, he was the best amateur in the Malaysian Open and won the Selangor Masters. After three wins in 2014, he was number 28 in the world rankings. 2008: US Kids Teen World Championship
