Romanian tennis player Andreea Prisacariu wasn’t impressed by some of the comments she saw about Serena Williams following the American’s Cincinnati exit. On Tuesday, Williams exited Cincinnati following a 6-4 6-0 loss to Emma Raducanu.
Prisacariu seemingly noticed some of the comments that were made on Twitter following Williams’ Cincinnati first round performance. Prisacariu called Williams “the Queen and definition of tennis” and added it is “disgusting” to body shame her.
“I’ve read some bad bad bad insulting stuff against Queen S and I must admit I am completely disgusted. Some people still have issues trying to understand that this woman is the definition of tennis. Calling her names, body shaming her and all that.
Serena Williams is the Legend,” Prisacariu tweeted.

Prisacariu on Williams: She is a champion
“Let’s all take a moment and not forget we’re talking about a freaking Champion!
The best in the world,” Prisacariu wrote in another tweet.

Williams, a 23-time Grand Slam champion, is retiring after this year’s US Open.
Last week in Toronto, Williams announced Toronto, Cincinnati and the US Open would be the three final tournaments of her career. Now, there is only one tournament left on Williams’ schedule. In the Cincinnati first round, Williams clashed 2021 US Open champion Raducanu.
After overcoming Williams, Raducanu showed her respect to the 23-time Grand Slam champion. “I think we all need to just honor Serena and her amazing career,” Raducanu told the crowd after the match. “I’m so grateful for the experience of being able to play her and for our careers to cross over.
Everything that she’s achieved is so inspirational and it was a true honor to share the court with her.” Now, Williams turns her focus to the US Open. In 1999, Williams became a Grand Slam champion after winning the US Open. 23 years later, Williams is set to retire on those same courts. The US Open starts on August 29.
