The Masters 1000 tournament in Montreal ended with the resounding victory of 31-year-old Spanish tennis player Pablo Carreno Busta. First success in a 1000 for the new number 14 in the world who beat the Polish Hubert Hurkacz by a comeback, defeated in a surprising way.
In a match mainly governed by tension, errors and the goodness of the service, Carreno condenses the vast majority of the smears during the sixth game and gives the first set to a Hubert who at the same time adopts a rather conservative strategy in an attempt not to give way to Spanish to set the pace from the baseline.
The dynamics change completely in the second set, with Carreno taking advantage of the black out of the Pole and then simply keeping all the subsequent batting rounds. In the final rush, the balance is broken in the third game, with the Spanish tennis player harpooning the decisive break and no longer making any particular changes to the script.
Pablo Carreno made an unreal point
Perfect week for Carreno who offered a great tennis, very solid and difficult to counter and defeated among others our two main Italian tennis players, Jannik Sinner and Matteo Berrettini, really leaving the crumbs to two of the representatives of Italian tennis.
Great test and great point in the final where Pablo Carreno is the protagonist of a literally extraordinary point that has won applause from the Canadian public and that has dragged the Spaniard to success. Here is the video of the challenge point:
