The hunt for ‘paper’ resumes for the DP World Tour 2023 of Lorenzo Scalise and Matteo Manassero who return to the field, after a break, in the Frederikshavn Challenge presented by HESSEL, scheduled from 11 to 14 August in Frederikshavn in Denmark.

There are still ten tournaments to go to the conclusion of the Challenge Tour with the Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final (3-6 November) where the 20 passes for the major circuit will be assigned to the top 20 classified on the money list, but the race is first run to enter the first 45 that will be allowed to play everything in Spain.

Better, however, if you are already in your 20s to have a better chance of hitting the goal.

Frederikshavn Challenge, schedule

At the moment Scalise and Manassero have different priorities who on the Frederikshavn Golfklub course will be joined by seven other Italians: Luca Cianchetti, Aron Zemmer, Enrico Di Nitto, Federico Maccario, Filippo Bergamaschi, Stefano Mazzoli, and Gregorio De Leo, the latter ruler of the ‘Alps Tour with three titles and which becomes familiar with the circuit in which it will be next year.

Scalise, 26th in the money list, will try to return to the top 20, where he was previously, but in order to face the Grand Final without risk or almost he should at least reach within 15. Manassero, 45th and therefore at the limit of qualification , must position to consolidate its chances.

As for the other Italians, they all have the opportunity to do well and perhaps revive their ambitions with an exploit. In Denmark there will be eleven seasonal winners and eleven of the top 20 of the Race to Mallorca (order of merit) with some defections, due to the choice to play this week on DP World Tour, which have a certain logic, like those of the Swedish Jens Dantorp , number one in the ranking, the South African Juan Carlo Ritchie, number three, and the English Todd Clements, number four, who are now sure to be promoted.

The decisions of the Northern Irishman Tom McKibbin, the South African Deon Germishuys and the Belgian Christopher Mivis are perplexing, who risk going out of 20. Favorites, in addition to Scalise and Manassero, the seasonal winners: the Danes Oliver Hundeboll, Martin Simonsen and Nicolai Kristensen, the Norwegian Kristian Krogh Johannessen, the French Clément Sordet, the English Nathan Kimsey, the Scotsman Liam Johnston, the Germans Alexander Knappe and Marc Hammer, Mateusz Gradecki from Poland and Javier Sainz from Spain. The prize pool is 250,000 euros with the first coin of 40,000 euros.
