Tommaso Perrino won with 138 (68 70, -6) strokes the G4D @ ISPS Handa World Invitational Presented by AVIV Clinics, fourth round of the G4D (Golf for the Disabled) held at Galgorm Castle GC (par 72) in Ballymena in Ireland of the North, where the ISPS Handa World Invitational will take place from 11 to 14 August.
The seven-event circuit with the Grand Finale in Dubai, reserved for players with disabilities, is promoted by the DP World Tour. The tournaments are held concurrently with competitions on the European calendar and on the same fields.

Perrino literally dominated, leading the 36 holes. He took off in the opening round with a 68 (-4, six birdies, two bogeys) and then kept up the pace with a 70 (-2, five birdies, three bogeys) and clearly led the Irish Brendan Lawlor, defending champion, and the English Kipp Popert, who has already scored twice this season, second with 143 (-1), respectively number one and number two in the world in the category.
In fourth position with 145 (+1) the American Chris Biggins and in fifth with 152 (+8) the other Irishman Conor Stone. “It is a wonderful feeling – said Perrino – to realize a dream that I cherished since the beginning of the year.
My game continuously improved until I got to this event where I made two big laps. I am very happy with the work done with my teacher Mauro Ravinetto. My whole family was here to follow me and winning in front of them was the best thing that happened to me this year.
The G4D is very important, it is acting as a flywheel and many people with disabilities start playing because they understand that those who have a problem can always have another chance ” With this victory, Perrino, number seven in the world rankings, has ensured his presence in the G4D @ DP World Tour Championship (18-19 November), the aforementioned Grand Finale in Dubai.
Perrino’s escalation on the G4D circuit is a real escalation, where he started with an eighth place, continued with a fifth, then moved on to fourth before reaching success. The 38-year-old professional from Livorno is the Technical Commissioner of the FIG Paralympic National Team and has three consecutive victories in the Sanofi Disabled Italian Open (2019, 2021, 2022).
His recent international successes (in July 2021 he also won the Czech Disabled Golf Masters of the EDGA circuit) seal the commitment of the Italian Golf Federation, led by President Franco Chimenti, to guarantee full support to Paralympic players through rallies and training with a dedicated staff.
Golf is thus confirmed as a barrier-free sport and inclusion is established as one of the central points of the Ryder Cup 2023 Project.
