The DP World Tour golfers close another week this Sunday with the conclusion of the Cazoo Open supported by Gareth Bale (event with prize money of 1,750 million dollars). The Welsh event, organized in collaboration with the well-known footballer, ended with the victory of Callum Shinkwin.

The twenty-nine year old from Watford triumphs with an overall score of -12 (272 strokes), administering the advantage built up in the three previous laps. Fourth round of -1 for the Englishman, who returns to success after two years.

Cazoo Open, results

Second place with -8 for the Scottish Connor Syme, who closes in front of a quintet that shares the third position with a score of -5. Small group made up of the French Julien Guerrier, who collapsed due to today’s bad +5, the Danish Lucas Bjerregaard, the British David Dixon and Andy Sullivan, and Renato Paratore.

Extraordinary last round of the Roman golfer, who climbs 18 positions thanks to the -5 of the day. For Paratore five birdies, an eagle and two bogeys, which allow him to close the event with a total score of -5, finding a top ten that had been missing since last October, when he found seventh place at the Open de Espana.

The Italian also leapt 48 places in the DPWT Ranking, climbing up to position 161. On the par 71 course of the Celtic Manor Resort in Newport (Wales, United Kingdom) -4 and eighth place for the Englishman Paul Waring, who precedes his compatriot Marcus Armitage, the German Matti Schmid, and the Thai Jazz Janewattananond.

55th instead the other two Italians who had passed the half-race cut. Lorenzo Gagli and Francesco Laporta greet Wales paired at +8. For Shinkwin, his success in Newport is the second of his professional career after the 2020 Aphrodite Hills Cyprus Open, when he mocked Finnish Kalle Samooja at the playoff holes. Over the next weekend he will be taking part in the ISPS Handa World Invitational in Northern Ireland.
