Matteo Manassero will be among the big names of the Italian Challenge Open, a tournament scheduled from 30 June to 3 July at the National Golf in Sutri (Viterbo). In the fourth appointment of the Italian Pro Tour 2022, also included in the Challenge Tour calendar, the second European men’s circuit, Manassero – together with Lorenzo Scalise, second in this event in 2019 – will lead the Azzurri.
Thirteen Italians competing, out of a total of 156 competitors, who will compete for 350,000 euros, of which 56,000 will go to the winner.

In the field there are nine of the top ten golfers in the order of merit of the Challenge Tour 2022, with the exception of number 1, the South African Juan Carlo Ritchie.
Among the favorites on the eve, among others, the Swede Jans Dantorp and the Dane Martin Simonsen. Already two Italian successes in the review, signed respectively in 2009 by Edoardo Molinari and in 2015 by Matteo Delpodio.
To anticipate the competition, in the “home” of Italian golf, will be a Pro-Am that will see in the competition, among others, the former football player Giuseppe Incocciati, an amateur golfer for years (in Fiuggi, for a challenge on the green, even hosted Diego Maradona).
Diego Armando Maradona (Lanús, 30 October 1960 – Tigre, 25 November 2020) was an Argentine footballer, soccer coach and sports manager, an attacking midfielder, world champion in 1986 and vice world champion in 1990 with the Argentine national team.
Nicknamed El Pibe de Oro (“the golden boy”), he is considered one of the greatest footballers of all time, if not the best ever. In a professional career of more than twenty years he played in Argentinos Juniors, Boca Juniors, Barcelona, Napoli, Sevilla and Newell’s Old Boys.
With the Argentine national team he participated in four World Cups (1982, 1986, 1990 and 1994), winning the 1986 tournament as a protagonist; the 91 matches played and the 34 goals scored for the national team constituted two records, which were subsequently beaten.
Against England in the 1986 Mexico quarter-finals he scored a goal considered the goal of the century, three minutes after scoring a goal with the hand (known as mano de Dios), another episode he is often remembered for.
