Indian Super League (ISL) side, NorthEast United FC are reportedly in talks with Israeli coach, Marco Balbul to take charge for the upcoming season, with IFTWC claiming that the club are keen to bring in the 54-year-old ahead of the upcoming league season.

It was earlier reported that the ISL side were keen to sign former Gokulam Kerala head coach, Vincenzo Alberto Annese as head coach but nothing came out of it and have now set their sights on Balbul.

Balbul has vast experience as a manager, having started his career as the assistant manager at Maccabi Haifa back in 2002 and since then has been associated with various clubs including the Israeli National Team; serving as the manager of the U21 side between 2018 and 2020.

He led the Israeli U21 team in seventeen games, winning seven and losing four matches in the Euro Under-21 Qualifiers, with his most recent position being the assistant manager of the Israel national side, which he left in February of this year.
