India men’s national team striker, Ishan Pandita has revealed that he has to give a lot of credit to India’s head coach, Igor Stimac for trusting him and giving him the opportunity to make his debut for the country.

Pandita who is known more of a “super sub”, scored his first international goal for the Blue Tigers during their 4-0 thrashing of Hong Kong in the recently concluded 2023 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers – with India creating history by securing a back-to-back qualification to the AFC Asian Cup for the first time ever.

Speaking on the LFL show, the 24-year-old opened up on how the trust shown by Stimac has given him confidence while playing for the national team.

“Obviously, I have to give a lot of credit to the Igor Stimac.  Because he is the coach that gave me my national team debut last year in Dubai. Then this year, he’s the one who gave me the opportunity to come on the field, and I scored my first goal. So a lot of credit goes to him,” he said in an interview.
