Man Utd’s 2022/23 Premier League Fixtures
Although Manchester United fans will be hoping the squad looks a lot different come the opening day of the season, the release of the Premier League fixtures mean they can begin really looking forward to life under Erik ten Hag.
The Red Devils will face Brighton & Hove Albion at Old Trafford in a potentially tricky opener, with the arrival of the Dutch coach set to place even more scrutiny on the team on Matchday One.
United have plenty of work to do before that though. After their worst ever Premier League season in terms of points accrued, new faces need to come in under Ten Hag – as of yet, no substantial progress appears to have been made on transfer targets.

As much as the fixture list means little in determining how a season plays out for a team, Ten Hag will surely be pleased to have a match in front of his own fans to start things off. It’s not a been a particularly good omen for the team in recent years though.
This will be the sixth year in succession that United have played their first game at Old Trafford, which is a top-flight record for the teams who are currently members of the Premier League.
Home starts haven’t necessarily led to good seasons, with the team making a number of changes in terms of managers and playing personnel. Last season, all appeared well when the team hammered Leeds 5-1, but the campaign quickly unravelled.

Pogba makes divine comparison
Departing Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has seemingly compared himself to Jesus Christ in his new documentary.
After five inconsistent years at United, the France international will leave the Red Devils on a free transfer this summer and is seemingly set to return to Juventus.
In the documentary, he reflects on his second spell in Manchester. “Now, I am at a turning point in my career,” he said. “I have big decisions to make which are going to determine my future and I don’t have the right to make an error…A player, he has to feel important in his team, his club. If you don’t have that, it’s over.”
Pogba then added: “As long as my players and my family are happy, I don’t care if the others aren’t. Even Jesus wasn’t unanimously rejected, they still crucified him.”

Ten Hag to address Scholes issue
The new United boss is said to be taking steps to solve problems identified by Red Devils icon Paul Scholes.
Scholes expressed his concern last season over United’s struggles to score goals from midfield, especially with the formerly productive Bruno Fernandes failing to find the back of the net as frequently.
However, midfield looks set to be an area Ten Hag strengthens as a priority, with Christian Eriksen and Frenkie de Jong said to be priority targets as part of his rebuild.
“Academy graduate James Garner is also knocking on the door of first-team football after a stellar loan spell away with Nottingham Forest,” it’s added. “In turn, Fernandes may find game-time next term drastically reduced from what he is used to in a United shirt.”
