Carlos Moya seemingly shades Patrick Mouratoglou following Rafael Nadal’s RG win

A fan asked coach Carlos Moya if Team Rafael Nadal had heard from Patrick Mouratoglou and Moya replied by stating he only remembers those who were supportive of Nadal. During the clay season, Mouratoglou explained that Nadal loves to play a lot during the clay season and that it would be hard for him to prepare well for the clay season.

Mouratoglou actually made a valid point as Nadal was forced to skip the beginning of the clay season because of a rib stress fracture and he was able to only play Madrid and Rome leading up to the French Open. The truth was that Nadal didn’t have a great preparation for the French Open but still he managed to win a record 14th title at Roland Garros.

“Here we continue, time goes by but always on time ⁦Rafal Nadal faithful to his date. Proud to be part of this madness, keep the party going,” Moya tweeted.

Moya on if Team Nadal had heard from Mouratoglou

“I only remember those who support and enjoy the victories.

Greetings!,” Moya replied to a fan.

In early May, Mouratoglou said it would be hard for Nadal to prepare well for the French Open.

“Rafael Nadal is not going to play many matches, and it is extremely rare that he arrives at Roland Garros with so few matches. So, for Roland-Garros, there is a real unknown for him. Despite his incredible start to the season, he is a player who has always needed to play a lot (before Roland Garros).

He will not reach the top,” Mouratoglou told France Info before the French Open. After reading Mouratoglou’s comments, Moya told Mouratoglou to show some respect. “17 years in a row top 10, Roland Garros’20 with 3 matches in 7 months, Australian Open’22 with 3 matches in 6 months, a little respect and memory, Patrick Mouratoglou,” Moya tweeted at the time. Now, Nadal is hoping to be able to compete at Wimbledon for the first time since 2019.
