Aryna Sabalenka supports Alexander Lukashenko regime

Former Ukrainian tennis player Alexandr Dolgopolov claims Aryna Sabalenka is supporting the Belarusian regime and thinks there are others who silently support the actions in Ukraine. A tennis fan asked Dolgopolov on Twitter what Sabalenka and Daniil Medvedev have to do with anything what has been going in Ukraine.

According to Dolgopolov, Sabalenka supports Belarusian president Alexander Lukashenko.

Lukashenko and his regime have been widely condemned since the start of the invasion of Ukraine. “Completely nothing. Considering Sabalenka signed a paper, asking for national meetings against Lukashenko to stop and supporting the president, which most of the world nations didn’t accept,” Dolgopolov replied.

A fan replied: “So ban her then, just as that gymnast was banned but not all Russian gymnasts.

I understand your emotions on the subject but I’m never going to agree with a blanket ban. I get it for team sports but not for individuals. I stand with you and all Ukrainians.”

Dolgopolov: Sabalenka is not the only one supportive of these regimes

“You don’t know many facts.

Truth is, not only Sabalenka is supportive of these regimes. We know at least a few, all others are silent, so we can’t say how many are supportive. That’s why they should speak. As for now, we feel @atptour and @WTA is trying to silence the situation,” Dolgopolov added.

On Friday, the ATP and WTA sanctioned Wimbledon by removing ranking points from this year’s tournament.

The ATP and WTA thought Wimbledon made a discriminatory decision against Russian players and they decided to sanction The Championships by removing ranking points from this year’s tournament. “Well done @atptour and @WTA, you made the N1 propagandist of russia happy by taking away points from @Wimbledon.

Probably will make it all over the rest of russian propaganda. Very poor decision. Can’t sit on TWO chairs,” Dolgopolov tweeted.
