Disappointment blue in England. At the British Masters, only the Turin Edoardo Molinari surpasses the cut who, in Sutton Coldfield, however, slips from 6 / a to 27 / a position with a score of 142 (68 74, -2). On the course of The Belfry (par 72), which has hosted the Ryder Cup four times, the new leader with a total of 135 (67 68, -9) is Hurly Long.
Halfway through the race, in the DP World Tour tournament, the German precedes the Scottish Richie Ramsay, the Swede Marcus Kinhult and the Dane Thorbjorn Olesen (in the lead after the opening 18 holes), all second with 136 (-8).
While in 5th position, with 137 (-7), here is Rasmus Hojgaard, one of the most promising golfers on the circuit.
Hurly Long, British Matsers
Race to forget for the other Azzurri. Francesco Laporta (who was 10 / o after the first round), 69 / o with 145 (+1), was eliminated as well as the Florentine Lorenzo Gagli (same score as the Apulian for him).
Guido Migliozzi from Vicenza (second in 2021), 85 / o with 146 (+2), Roman Renato Paratore (winner of the British Masters in 2020), 137 / o with 151 (+7) also left the scene. And again: Nino Bertasio and Andrea Pavan, both 141 / i (152, +8).
Great performance instead for the German Long. Starting from hole 10, after the first 9 holes (all closed in par), he made five birdies (of which four consecutive), with a bogey. Four birdies, two bogeys and as many double bogeys for Edo Molinari (equal to 74, +2 for him), convincing in the first part of the race and disappointing in the second.
