Juventus signed Federico Chiesa on a two-year loan from Fiorentina in 2020, paying a loan fee of just over €10m. The initial agreement included an option to make the transfer permanent in 2022 for €40m, and with the summer now approaching fast, the Old Lady have made a formal decision to take up the option and trigger the clause. The fee could rise further by another €7.4m if certain conditions are met in the future, and his contract now binds him to Juventus until 2025.
The 24-year-old winger has been out of action since January due to an ACL injury and isn’t expected back before the start of next season, but it seems he doesn’t need to worry about his future. Since arriving to Turin, Chiesa has made a total of 61 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring 18 goals and providing 14 assists.
Chiesa helped Juventus win the Italian Cup and Super Cup last season, though the Bianconeri are yet to win the Scudetto since his arrival.
