Cricketers in Kaduna State were given a boost, last week, when Governor Nasir El-Rufai feted the team to appreciate them and also encourage them to strive for higher achievement.
Governor El Rufai hosted the Kaduna State cricket team and other sports associations that did the state proud in recent local and international sporting events at the State House. Also, among those feted were coaches and essential team members for each sports.
Elated by their achievements, the governor promised the athletes and coaches his administration’s maximum support. He also promised the athletes and their coaches pieces of land each and an undisclosed amount of cash reward.
El-Rufai had earlier approved the state cricket team’s participation in the yearly Uganda International Cricket Series. The Kaduna team will depart for Uganda on April 31.
