Former Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben competed in the Rotterdam Marathon in the Netherlands on Sunday. The former Dutch international finished the race in 3h13’57”, a very good time for someone who hung up his crampons last summer. The 38-year-old former footballer ran with Erben Wennermars, a former a speed skater, he finished the marathon exhausted.
“It wasn’t fun, it really wasn’t fun. I did, but that’s about it. I often reached deep within myself and had to fight often. It was a real fight”said Robben at the microphone of RTV Rijnmond after its long run which was followed by many Dutch media.
