As part of the 31st day of La Liga, Elche (15th, 32 pts) received this Saturday evening Real Sociedad (6th, 51 pts) at the Estadio Manuel Martínez Valero. Slightly behind by Betis Sevilla, winner of Cadiz on Saturday (2-1), the visitors absolutely had to win to return to two points. And it’s done thanks to a short 2-1 success.
The game had however started badly for the team of Imanol Alguacil with the opener of the score of Carrillo for the locals (3rd, 1-0). But after a missed penalty from Isak (19th), Real Sociedad equalized through Sorloth (31st, 1-1) before the goal of Frenchman Le Normand (39th, 1-2). The score did not change in the second half. Thanks to this victory, the Basque club remained just behind Betis. Elche did not move from his 15th place.
