Passed in three years of mere hope from PSG to the French team, the career of Christopher Nkunku commands admiration. If RB Leipzig has a lot to do with the metamorphosis of the former Parisian titi, it is the player himself who knew how to force his destiny to reach such a level since the latter quickly understood that his body was the essential tool for its success. We are talking here about a player who is the best of his team and who totals 27 goals (including 7 goals in the Champions League) and 14 assists in 40 matches played with the RBL in all competitions.
So inevitably, on the side of the German club, we cannot imagine letting go of the one who made his debut in the French team on March 25 against Côte d’Ivoire (2-1). In Leipzig, we are already preparing a new contract for the native of Lagny-sur-Marne, engaged with Leipzig until June 2024. The objective for the German club is simple, to shield its international tricolor to make it one of the players the best paid in the Bundesliga even if it means including a release clause in his contract.
A big contract to come from Leipzig for Nkunku
But the current 5th in the Bundesliga will have a lot to do to keep his jewel. Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City and even FC Barcelona (Joan Laporta is a fan of the player) are in the running. But there is a club that wants more than anything to sign Christopher Nkunku, current 3rd top scorer in the Bundesliga. This club is none other than PSG, the player’s training club. It must be said that since the departure of the international tricolor striker in 2019 for 13 M€, many things have changed, both on the side of Nkunku and PSG.
Sacrificed like other talents to bail out the coffers of the Parisian club, Nkunku is today for the club of Nasser Al-Khelaifi a summer priority, especially in the event of the departure of a Neymar that Paris has offered to several European clubs, including Barca. Nkunku, PSG’s new shock argument to keep Mbappé?
Very close to Kylian Mbappé since the two men met in Paris and found themselves in the French team, Nkunku could be a strong argument for Paris to convince the 2018 world champion to extend his Parisian adventure. We are obviously still very far from signing Christopher Nkunku in Paris. But the possibility of recruiting his former great hope, even for an amount greater than 70 M €, is being studied with the utmost seriousness at PSG. The story would in any case be beautiful and unprecedented in Paris, since Nicolas Anelka’s striking return to the Parc des Princes in July 2000. Let’s just hope for Nkunku a better trajectory than that of the former star of Arsenal and Real Madrid.
