As in the previous edition which saw LOSC win against PSG, the Champions Trophy will be played in Tel Aviv, Israel. The LFP announced it via a press release. The match between the French Ligue 1 champion and the winner of the Coupe de France will take place on Sunday July 31, 2022, at Bloomfield Stadium in Tel Aviv.
“After a sold-out first edition, the Professional Football League and leading philanthropist and businessman Sylvan Adams, in partnership with Comtec Group, are pleased to announce the return of the Champions Trophy to Israel”, can we read in this press release. Last summer, the meeting between Lille and PSG was also marked by whistles from the public towards Achraf Hakimi who had publicly displayed his support for the Palestinian people in the conflict with Israel.
