Barely four months after leaving Juventus and returning to the Bundesliga, Sami Khedira (34) has decided to retire. During his long career, the German international will have gleaned the Champions League and La Liga with Real Madrid or five times Serie A with Juventus. Two clubs where he was able to see evolve the fivefold Ballon d’Or, Cristiano Ronaldo. Asked by ESPNKhedira spoke about the evolution of the 37-year-old striker, who is now back at Manchester United.

“I met two Cristianos, the first at Real Madrid, a little younger and maybe a little more selfish. Not in a negative way, but he had to find his personality. He scored lots and lots of goals and was fantastic, but he didn’t have that much influence on the teamhe recalled. Then, my second experience with Cristiano, at Juventus… he arrives in the team and he has the same selfishness which is that of scoring, but he was more of a leader, more of a natural leader. He always pushed us and he knew he needed the support of his teammates to win trophies. Don’t get me wrong, he was always part of the squad at Madrid, but at Juventus he was a bit more mature.”.
