According to Mirror, Manchester United would track two players for the next transfer window, PSV Eindhoven winger Cody Gakpo and Sporting Portugal midfielder João Palhinha. Ralf Rangnick, the interim coach of the Red Devils, would have asked for the supervision of the 22-year-old Dutchman himself during PSV’s Conference League match against Maccabi Tel Aviv on Thursday (1-0), during which Gakpo was a scorer. Great hope in the Netherlands, he played 33 games this season with Eindhoven, scored 13 goals and delivered 13 assists. The player is engaged with the Dutch club until June 2023.

United are also reportedly interested in João Palhinha. The 26-year-old Portuguese has however recently signed a new contract with Sporting until June 2026. The release clause of the defensive midfielder is 60 million euros but the Portuguese club would be open to negotiations according to the English media. Manchester scouts have already scouted the Portugal international eight times this season. United would be interested in a transfer this summer but other clubs are on the file including Atlético de Madrid and Wolverhampton.
