In a press conference before the knockout stages of the Champions League on Tuesday against PSG, Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti spoke about the key players in the Parisian workforce and in particular midfielder Marco Verratti. The two Italians know each other well since it was Ancelotti who brought the midfielder to Paris in 2012 when the technician was on the PSG bench.
“I was lucky with Verratti. He’s had a great career and I’m very happy for him. We talk to each other often, he has always been good but he has also improved a lot. He has improved his character, he has more personality. And yes, we talked about his risk taking near the surface. But those are his characteristics and a coach has to take that into account.” explained the Real Madrid coach on Monday.
