Scorer against Espanyol, FC Barcelona midfielder Pedri returned to the performance of his team which won a draw (2-2) thanks to a goal in stoppage time from Dutch striker Luuk De Jong. The Canarian would have preferred a victory even if this result allows Barça, currently 4th in La Liga, to continue their series of eight games without defeat in the league.
“Luuk’s goal is good for us but we came to take the three points. We should have controlled the game and been more patient. I’m happy to have scored. We get on well with Gavi and our celebration is proof of that.” explained the 19-year-old Spaniard. Back from injury at the end of January Pedri has played just nine games for the Blaugranas since the start of the season and scored two goals.
