Two days before the clash between Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid in the round of 16 first leg of the Champions League (Tuesday, 9 p.m.), UEFA has just appointed the Italian Daniele Orsato as referee for this meeting. Note that last November, he had already refereed the group stage meeting between the Parisians and Manchester City (1-2) at the Etihad Stadium.
A well-known PSG referee since Daniele Orsato was also present at the whistle in the 2020 Champions League final lost to Bayern Munich (0-1), in the round of 16 first leg of the C1 against Manchester United in February 2019 (2-0), or even recently during the quarter-final return between PSG and Bayern in April 2021 (0-1).
