According to Mirror, Brentford are currently investigating a video of their striker Ivan Toney, in which the 25-year-old insults his club. The video, which was shot this winter during the player’s holiday in Dubai, has gone viral in England and many Bees fans are demanding an explanation from the player. The English center-forward, who joined Brentford in the summer of 2020, was one of the great architects of the club’s rise to the Premier League last year, scoring 31 goals in the Championship.
The player ended up apologizing on social media. “The video was cut short and edited, but I have to accept the impact it had and realize that I shouldn’t have put myself in that position,” he explained. (…) I respect the way you all support the team and I have to say how much I love playing for this club and for you. Despite this mea culpa, the player will probably have to explain himself to his management.
