Faced with the resurgence of cases of Covid-19 in France for several weeks, the government has decided to introduce a maximum of 5,000 people for outdoor events. A measure introduced on January 3, and for a minimum of three weeks, to which French football clubs must therefore comply. Ligue 1 has thus resumed its rights this weekend with an air of great emptiness in the stadiums.

Monaco Morning however recalls this Monday that this government directive does not affect the Principality, which depends on the Monegasque government. The latter, for his part, opted for a maximum tonnage of 2,000 people outdoors, a lower number than on French territory. This is why the local daily specifies that AS Monaco has requested an exemption to be able to accommodate 5,000 spectators from Sunday (3 p.m., 21st day of Ligue 1), against Clermont Foot 63, like the 19 other elite clubs.
