After the trophy for best defender of the year awarded to Leonardo Bonucci, the 12th Globe Soccer Awards ceremony rewarded Roberto Mancini on Monday. Elected best coach of the year, the former coach of Inter Milan owes it to his formidable journey with the Nazionale, crowned at the last Euro.
The native of Jesi was in competition with several big names such as Didier Deschamps, who could go for a second trophy after his victory in 2018, a few months after the Russian World Cup, or even Pep Guardiola, Hansi Flick, Thomas Tuchel and Lionel Scaloni.
After an illustrious career as a player for Sampdoria and then Lazio, Mancini embarked on a career as football manager at Fiorentina in 2001, and ever since has successfully led prestigious teams, culminating in taking on the job of managing the Italian national team in 2018. pic.twitter.com/BxnWC1tU6R
