White and Blue houses emerged winners in the primary and secondary schools categories respectively, in the Starfield Schools 10th Inter-house athletics competitions, which held at the Agege Stadium, Lagos.
Behind White House in the primary school category was Red and Sky Blue houses respectively, while Blue House was tailed in the secondary school class by Red and Yellow houses in second and third places respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, the schools’ proprietress, Mrs. Juliana Eigbe, advised parents to encourage their wards to take part in sporting activities.
“You will agree with me that sports have become a money-spinner in the world. So, I want to appeal to our parents to show more interest in sporting activities, as this will further encourage our children to increase their participation,” Eigbe said.
She added that the school would continue to give its students the best in all areas of development, including skills acquisition, adding that she was impressed with the turnout of parents and old students to support the students.
Chairman of the event, John Okoye, praised the management of the school for organising the sporting event, adding that sports and academic enhance positive results for the students.
Okoye who said students’ participation in sporting activities would help boost their academic performance, observed that Starfield Schools’ students were doing well in sports and academics.
