It was a top display of action by members of the Badminton Section of the Ibadan Tennis Club (ITC) at the grand finale of HRH Olatunde Oginni Badminton Doubles Tournament.
The duo of Omotadowa and Bamidele defeated Omole and Adebiyi by 2-1 to win in the best of three games format.
Trophies, medals, and exciting prizes were given to winners in different categories in the second edition of the Badminton event instituted as part of activities marking the birthday of the monarch, HRH Olatunde Oginni, who is also the sole sponsor of the tourney.
ITC president, Prince Peter Akinyooye, in his remark thanked the monarch for his continuous support to the badminton section of the club, saying he has signified interest to sponsor another badminton tournament.
“Kabiyesi, Oba Olatunde Oginni, the Olodogbo1 of Odogbo Ijesa is a philanthropist, a socialite who has been a pillar of support to ITC, especially this badminton section.
“He has been single-handedly sponsoring this double badminton tournament, which we designed to commemorate his birthday scheduled for March 26,” Prince Akinyooye noted in his remarks.
