Former Nigerian International, Bright Omokaro, has urged the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to ensure the Super Eagles Manager, Gernot Rohr, keeps to the terms of his new two and half years deal. He also wants the federation to disclose the new target set for the German coach.

Explaining why it is important for the NFF to tell Nigerians what is expected from Rohr in his two-and-half-year contract, Omokaro said revealing such targets would force the Eagles’ technical crew and players to work hard for good results.

The Cote d’Ivoire 1984 and Maroc ’88 African Cup of Nations silver medalist advised Rohr to consult local coaches and search widely for quality players for the national team, adding that the coach must be made to follow the guidelines given to him by the federation in discharging his duty.

“It is important for the NFF to tell Nigerians what is expected from Rohr in the AFCON and Cup campaigns. Nigerians have to see improvement in the Super Eagles and to achieve this, the NFF should strictly monitor the guidelines set for Rohr, especially in the area of watching the domestic league for players.

“If at the end of the day, Rohr could not keep to the rules set for him, that means the federation’s efforts have not yielded any result.

“Rohr must focus on making the Eagles a force to reckon with in African and world football. Working towards achieving a good result in the AFCON and Cup campaigns should not be negotiable,” he said.
