The grand finale of the Sports for Hope project will hold tomorrow between Mushin and Agege in the football event, while the volleyball’s final will see Oshodi trade tackle with Surulere at the Campus Mini Stadium, Lagos Island.

The tournament, which began on November 11, witnessed matches in various centres across Lagos in Agege, Ajegunle, Bariga, Ikorodu, Isolo, Mushin, Oshodi, and Surulere.

Sports for Hope project a community initiative sponsored by the Embassy of France in Nigeria, was launched in August 2019 and has created avenues for inclusion, empowerment, and positive lifestyle choices.

In over 12 weeks, 220 people with intellectual disabilities (PWIDs) and 140 people without intellectual disabilities have been equipped with vital information on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), financial management, and health promoting behaviour to enable them to make better life choices, using football and volleyball as a tool of engagement and driving the inclusion of PWIDs in the society.

Tomorrow’s event will also feature music performance and dance competitions among others.
