NRLA strikes partnership deal with The Guardian |

The Guardian Group and Nigeria Rugby League have entered an exciting new partnership to provide national coverage for the sport.After being formed in 1983, The Guardian newspaper is now widely considered one of the most respected newspapers in Nigeria, with the new agreement in place to boost the recent boom of Nigeria Rugby League.

Michael Ogunbiyi, who currently serves as Director of Strategy and Planning of the Nigerian Rugby League Association, is a member of the executive team promoting a rise in the sport in the country, and on the continent of Africa.

Plans were launched at the start of the season for a Middle East Africa Championships, which will take place in October, and the media coverage from The Guardian will provide a powerful platform for the competition to attract a national audience.”We are delighted to announce a partnership between NRLA and the Guardian Group,” Ogunbiyi said.

“The Guardian has offered to provide coverage for the NRLA leading up to the MEA Championships.“The MEA championships is the first of its kind on the continent and is essentially the pre-qualifiers to the Rugby League Cup in 2025.“We are proud to have The Guardian as local media partners. This partnership will go a long way in creating awareness around the game and promoting the Nigeria Rugby League brand.”
