The organiser of the under-16 football tournament, Oracle Sports has concluded plans to celebrate former Nigerian football stars during the 10th edition, which holds between August 10 and September 9, 2018 at the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos.

A prize tag of N500,000 would be awarded to the winners of this year’s edition, which is aimed at discovering and nurturing of talented young stars.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Oracle Sports, Donald Onwuka, has said the fiesta would be a unique platform to appreciate former Nigeria stars like Monday Odiaka, Waidi Akanni, Yisa Shofoluwe, Lawrence Orairo, Franklyn Howard, Peter Nieketien, Mike Onyemachara, Tajudeen Disu amongst others.

“Our vision at Oracle Sports is to inspire both old and new talents. The ex-Nigerian stars played a great role in Nigerian football development and they deserve to be celebrated.

“The 10th edition of the Oracle Sports Football Tournament would be a big carnival. There would be quality football at both the Hockey Pitch and Legacy Pitch of the National Stadium. We shall honour the ex-internationals because they have laid the right foundation.

“I hope the Nigeria Football Federation would realise the need to take them along. We also believe that their presence would inspire the young stars,” Onwuka stated, adding that top music stars like Orise Femi, Mr. Raw, Kels amongst others would perform at opening and closing ceremonies.
