Former Super Eagles’ assistant coach, Joe Erico, has called on the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) not to dwell so much on the allegations against Coach Stephen Keshi and national team captain, team captain, Vincent Enyeama.

Rather, he wants the federation to channel its efforts at revamping Nigerian football through quality development programmes.

He believes the NFF, as an experienced body, should have employed an organized process to deal with the allegations against Enyeama and Keshi, instead of advertising it in the public domain.

Wondering why the NFF, which should be looking at ways to ensure that the country’s recent failure at the Under-20 Cup and the Women Cup did not have far more negative consequences on the nation’s football development, are dragging on issues that could further negate the efforts to rebuild the country’s game.

“At this point in time, the federation should be putting all its resources in resuscitating Nigerian football growth path after the Falcons and Flying Eagles’ poor performances in the recent international championships. The NFF needs to realize that more attention needs to be given to our national teams, instead of placing priority on irrelevant issues, There is is much work ahead for them and Enyeama or Keshi should not be a distraction, ’’ he said.
