Sunshine Stars 3-2 Wiki Tourists

A goal at the death of regulation time helped Sunshine Stars defeat Wikki Tourists 3-2 on Sunday and move into the top half of the Glo Premier League standings.

Either side ended the match with ten men after Sunshine defender Olowo Emmanuel got his marching order for obstructing a goal-bound move, before Wikki’s Emenike Ohuoha received his second booking.

Bauchi State side Wikki claimed the lead on 37 minutes via Mubarak Umar’s goal off a rebound of Godwin Oanye’s shot.

Paul Onobi restored parity for the Akure hosts at the break with a spectacular free-kick.

Wikki pulled ahead courtesy of substitute Nafiu Bala’s effort in the 60th minute.

Taken Medrano re-equalized for The Akure Gunners in the 75th minute from Dele Olorundare’s assist and Adebayo Adigun sealed off three points on the nick of full-time to send the Akure Township stadium into wild jubilation.

Sunshine Stars now have ten points from six matches, while Wikki have ten points.

Rangers 3-0 El-Kanemi

Enugu Rangers secured just their second win of the season on Match Day 6 to move out of rock-bottom of the standings.

Goals from Marshal Odah Onoriode (4th), Chisom Egbuchulam (55th) and Ousmane Pape (68th) brought the Flying Antelopes back to winning ways.

El-Kanemi Warriors lost Suleiman Dorris to a straight red in the 58th minute after a spat with Odah Onoriode.

Rangers now have six points from the same numbers of games and are up to 14th in the 20-team table, while El-Kanemi have nine points from five games.

Enyimba 3-2 Sharks

Enyimba edged to a narrow win against Sharks in Aba as Mfon Udoh grabbed a brace to move joint-top of the Glo Premier League chart.

Chinonso Okonkwo opened scoring for the Peoples Elephants in the 14th minute with a shot from inside the box.

Udoh doubled Enyimba’s lead from the penalty spot in the 23rd minute after a visiting defender handled the ball inside the penalty area.

Jackson Daniel halved Sharks deficit on 59 minutes following a blunder by goalkeeper Moses Ocheje.

Udoh rounded off his brace, squeezing his shit under The visitors’ goalkeeper five minutes later.

Jackson also grabbed his second of the day in the 85th minute, but the hosts held out for maximum points.

Enyimba now have 11 points from six games, while Sharks have six points from six games.

Udon, who fired a Nigeria Professional Football League-record 23 goals last season, now has four goals after six rounds of matches, tied with Ibrahim Shuaibu of Giwa FC.
