Centre-back Godfrey Oboabona is an injury doubt for Nigeria ahead of Wednesday’s Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifier against South Africa in Cape Town.
The Rizespor of Turkey defender suffered a knock in the weekend’s 3-2 home loss to Congo in Calabar and faces further assessments to ascertain before the win or bust tie against the Bafana Bafana.
Stephen Keshi could switch his attention to Warri Wolves skipper Azubuike Egwuekwe, should Oboabona fail late fitness test.

“Oboabona has traveled with us to South Africa,” a team official told AfricanFootball.com. “We just have to wait and see if he can play on Wednesday.”
The 24-year-old ex-Sunshine Stars player also had an injury blighted World Cup campaign in Brazil.
