Raymond Ablorh, a journalist and communication specialist, has asserted that Okatakyie Afrifa has set up his platform, ‘For the Records,’ to start a propaganda scheme for Agenda 2028.
Raymond Ablorh made this comment in a post shared on his Facebook page on 2nd March, 2025.
He called on the NDC to have a clear deliberate plan to neutralize the plans of Okatakyie Afrifa.
“He’s a dangerous, highly tribalistic, ultra-partisan rumour purveyor who should be rendered ineffective. Don’t go after him directly. Use strategic communications and other physically harmless tactics to render what he’s started useless. Don’t take it for granted that sane Ghanaians won’t take him seriously. There’s a very thin line between sane and insane Ghanaians.” Raymond Ablorh wrote.
Raymond Ablorh believe that Okatakyie Afrifa is positioning himself to have the Kevin Taylor’s effect. However, he is of the view that Okatakyie’s only challenge is that he’s deficient of good reputation.
Raymond Ablorh cautioned the NDC, not to take what he’s started for granted in the midst of the excitement.
“Never allow these guys to do to H.E. John Dramani Mahama what they did to him ahead of the 2016 elections again. Everybody should be able to hold him and his government accountable like some of us did without what they did to him.
This is from my observation of the media after elections 2024. Let history guide you.” Raymond Ablorh concluded.

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released all withheld results from the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
WAEC had withheld over 10,000 results over suspected malpractices but pledged to release them by February 28.
The decision follows a legal battle and threats of nationwide protests from the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS).
Speaking to Citi News, head of public affairs at WAEC, John Kapi, said there are currently no outstanding results, including those previously tied to a legal dispute with the Council.
He said “As we promised, we kept to our promises. So by the close of February 28, we had uploaded all the results of the candidates whose results had been withheld.
“The court had ordered that we should release the results of those candidates. And so we’ve gone ahead with all the results. So we don’t have any outstanding results as far as, you know, those exams are concerned.
“Well, 28 was a Friday, and so we assume that the people are still waiting till the beginning of the week, you know, to begin to call the office and to register some complaints. But, again, I think that whatever we have put out there is a true reflection of the performance of the candidates in the examination.”

Cardi B has filed for divorce from Offset
American rapper Offset has made it clear he wants his divorce from Cardi B to be finalized, yet insists custody of their kids be split evenly across the two.
Legal documents obtained by TMZ indicate that Offset is requesting joint legal custody of the three children he shares with Cardi B.
The 33-year-old emphasized that Cardi’s place should be the primary residence for the kids, but he wants the responsibility and access shared, as per reports.
Also, Offset is asking the court to lay out the obligations of each parent in supporting their children.
Furthermore, the ex-Migos rapper is asking the court to divide their marital property, insisting that it is appropriate for them both to pay their own lawyer fees.
It was Cardi’s decision to file for divorce in August, and apart from the occasional get-together over the holidays, both the music stars have consistently lived separately.
Over the past weeks, rumors of Cardi being in a new relationship have intensified, after she was spotted on a romantic date on Valentine’s Day earlier this month with NFL star Stefon Diggs.
Reports indicate that Offset has also not been idle and is involved with a couple of models.
Cardi B is yet to publicly react to Offset’s demands of custody being split equally across the two after having a public back and forth on social media with the 33-year-old months ago.

The Electronic Money Issuers (EMIs) Chamber of Ghana has called for urgent action to protect Mobile Money (MoMo) agents following a series of deadly robbery attacks.
In a press release sighted by GhanaWeb, the Chamber condemned the violence, stating, “Three Mobile Money agents dying in one month is entirely unacceptable,” and emphasising that “one life lost is one too many.”
The Chamber urged President John Dramani Mahama, the Ministers of Interior and Finance, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), and the Governor of the Bank of Ghana to collaborate on immediate measures to curb these attacks.
“We are particularly concerned about the increasing frequency of these violent crimes,” the release added.
EMIs called for intensified law enforcement efforts to apprehend those responsible for the attacks.
Highlighting MoMo agents’ crucial role in Ghana’s financial ecosystem, the Chamber stressed that their safety is vital to the country’s digital financial stability.
It also debunked the misconception that “mobile money agents carry large amounts of cash,” clarifying that most transactions are digital.
The EMIs Chamber announced plans to collaborate with the Ghana Police Service and the Bank of Ghana on security initiatives, including the Agent Registry and Security of Agents project.
Meanwhile, EMIs advised agents to adopt essential security measures, such as closing their shops by 6:00 PM, installing CCTV and panic alarms, and reporting suspicious activities to local police.
The Chamber concluded by urging all stakeholders to prioritise MoMo agents’ safety amid Ghana’s ongoing digital financial transformation.

PRESS RELEASE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
EMIs Chamber of Ghana Condemns Attacks on Mobile Money Agents, Calls for Urgent Protection Measures
The Electronic Money Issuers (EMIs) Chamber of Ghana extends its deepest condolences to the families of the deceased mobile money agents whose lives were violently cut short by some unscrupulous members of the public.
We also want to extend our condolences to the entire mobile money agents’ fraternity following the recent spate of attacks and killings.
Mobile money agents are critical in Ghana’s financial ecosystem, facilitating secure and accessible financial transactions for millions of Ghanaians. The alarming rise in these attacks threatens not only their safety but also the stability of the financial services ecosystem across the country. Their role is invaluable and must be protected. Three mobile money agents dying in one month is entirely unacceptable. One life lost is one too many.
Need for Immediate Action to Protect Agents
The EMIs Chamber of Ghana would like to call on the President, the Interior and Finance Ministers, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), and the Governor of Bank of Ghana to work with us to take urgent measures to protect all mobile money agents from these senseless attacks.
We are particularly concerned about the increasing frequency of these violent crimes and urge law enforcement agencies to intensify efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice.
As part of our commitment to ensuring the safety of mobile money agents, the Chamber is taking immediate steps to engage the leadership of the Ghana Police Service to find effective security solutions to combat this growing menace.
We will also engage the Bank of Ghana on the Agent Registry and Security of Agents project to help protect our partners.
We will work closely with relevant stakeholders to explore enhanced protection measures, improved law enforcement response, and policy interventions to safeguard mobile money agents nationwide.
Mobile Money Agents Do Not Carry Large Sums of Cash
We also take this opportunity to correct a dangerous misconception held by some sections of the public—mobile money agents do not carry large amounts of money on themselves. The notion that they move around with significant sums makes them easy targets for criminals, putting their lives at even greater risk.
Mobile money transactions are largely digital, and cash handling is minimized through structured financial processes. We urge the public to support efforts to protect agents rather than propagate falsehoods that fuel these attacks.
Urgent Call for Agents to Strengthen Security Measures
While we expect swift action from security agencies, we strongly advise all mobile money agents to take precautionary steps to protect themselves, including but not limited to the following:
• Closing their shops early (by 6:00 PM) to reduce exposure to night-time crime.
• Avoid carrying large sums of cash and making transactions in isolated locations.
• Investing in CCTV cameras, panic alarm, and security systems at their operating points.
• Being highly vigilant and reporting any suspicious individuals or activities.
• Making your shop and agency known to the nearest police station close to you, so that we can work with the Ghana Police to get their Motor Bicycle Visibility team to patrol close to your shop.
The EMIs Chamber of Ghana stands with all mobile money agents in these difficult times, and we remain committed to working with stakeholders to address these security threats. Our commitment to this cause is unwavering. We urge the Government, Ministry of Interior, National Security, and Ghana Police Service to prioritize the safety of mobile money agents, as their role is essential to Ghana’s digital financial transformation.
The time for decisive action is now. These agents must not continue to be targets of violent crime. We urge all stakeholders, from the Government to the general public, to join us in this urgent call for action.

Ghanaian media personality Captain Smart has expressed full support for John Dumelo’s appointment as Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture. Captain Smart shared a simple but sincere message on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), stating, “Well deserved.”
Dumelo’s appointment was officially announced by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Acting Spokesperson for President John Dramani Mahama. The actor-turned-politician, who currently serves as the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon in Greater Accra, will now focus on supporting Ghana’s agricultural development in his new role.
Born on February 3, 1984, John Dumelo has had a diverse career. After completing his education at Christ the King School, Achimota School, and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), he pursued Public Service and Governance studies at GIMPA. Though Dumelo is well-known for his acting career, his passion for agriculture has grown over the years. He is actively involved in both crop and animal farming and often encourages young Ghanaians to consider agriculture as a promising career.
Given Dumelo’s extensive experience in farming, many, including Captain Smart, believe he is well-suited for his new role and can significantly contribute to the growth of Ghana’s agricultural sector, especially in encouraging youth participation.
President John Mahama has initiated crucial wage negotiations to enhance the financial well-being of public sector workers. The National Tripartite Committee, consisting of representatives from the government, employers, and labour unions, has begun discussions on adjusting the minimum wage.
These talks come in response to growing financial hardships faced by government employees, who have been advocating for salary adjustments due to the rising cost of living. The presidency has confirmed that once an agreement is reached on the minimum wage, the focus will shift to revising base pay for public sector salaries.
The negotiations have already been delayed, as they were initially expected to conclude months earlier under the Public Financial Management (PFM) Act. Acknowledging the urgency, the government has called on all stakeholders to expedite the process.
“The government urges social partners—government, employers, and organized labor—to swiftly finalize the negotiations to guide the national budget,” stated Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Acting Spokesperson for the President.
Labor unions, which have long pushed for significant wage increases, view these discussions as a step in the right direction. Many public sector workers have struggled with rising living costs, and there is optimism that the negotiations will bring much-needed financial relief.
While expectations are high for improved wages and working conditions, private sector employers are also considering the broader economic implications. They must find a balance between offering fair compensation and maintaining business sustainability.
The government is expected to play a key role in ensuring that the final agreements promote both economic stability and worker welfare. Over the coming weeks, the Tripartite Committee will continue its deliberations, aiming to finalise the new wage structure in time for the national budget.
With President Mahama’s commitment to improving the livelihoods of government employees, there is hope that these discussions will result in meaningful change. Public sector workers eagerly await the outcome, anticipating a more secure financial future as negotiations progress.

The Boubou, a flowing, elegant garment traditionally worn by African women, has evolved into a symbol of refined style and cultural pride. Known for its loose, flowing fit, the Boubou is now a versatile fashion piece that can be styled with various fabrics, including the luxurious and intricate lace. Lace, with its delicate patterns and rich textures, brings a touch of sophistication to the classic Boubou design, making it a perfect choice for formal events, weddings, and festive occasions.
In the latest trends, Boubous made from lace fabrics are reimagined to offer both comfort and style. One of the standout trends is the floor-length lace Boubou, often adorned with intricate beading, sequins, or embroidery. These embellishments enhance the natural beauty of lace, creating a sparkling effect that catches the light and elevates the overall look. The addition of delicate details like these brings the traditional Boubou into a more contemporary and high-fashion territory, making it perfect for modern brides, guests at weddings, or women attending cultural gatherings.
Another popular style is the layered lace Boubou. This design incorporates layers of lace fabric in different shades, often contrasting with solid colors like gold, silver, or black to create a sophisticated visual effect. The layers add volume and movement to the garment, allowing for a dramatic yet graceful appearance. Many of these layered designs feature a high-low hemline, which gives the outfit a dynamic, modern look while maintaining the Boubou’s signature fluidity.
The Boubou with lace inserts is also trending, where lace is used to accentuate the sleeves, neckline, or sides of the outfit. These lace inserts add a touch of sensuality and elegance without overwhelming the entire garment. Often paired with solid-colored fabrics like silk, satin, or velvet, this style creates a perfect balance between understated luxury and bold fashion.
For a more casual or daytime look, short lace Boubous are becoming increasingly popular. These shorter versions of the traditional Boubou are ideal for women who want to incorporate the beauty of lace into their everyday wardrobe without sacrificing comfort. These can be paired with trousers, skirts, or worn alone for a relaxed yet chic appearance.
Accessories play a significant role in complementing the Boubou, and with lace, the options are endless. Beaded or metallic belts can cinch the waist, while statement jewelry such as large earrings, chokers, or bracelets further elevate the lace Boubou’s elegance. Pairing the outfit with a stylish headscarf or turban, often made from the same lace fabric, enhances the cohesive look.
In conclusion, lace Boubous are a beautiful fusion of tradition and modernity, offering women an elegant and timeless outfit for any occasion. Whether it’s the dramatic floor-length design, the layered aesthetic, or the more casual styles, the latest Boubou styles in lace fabric promise sophistication, elegance, and versatility. These styles allow women to embrace their cultural heritage while remaining at the forefront of contemporary fashion.

In a social media post, Kelvin Taylor made it known that Williams Anarfi Sarpong is a scammer and he should stay away from His Excellency John Dramani Mahama by disclosing to the general public that he has nothing to do with His Excellency John Dramani Mahama.
According to the post from Kevin Taylor, Williams Anarfi Sarpong took a picture with His Excellency John Dramani Mahama when the National Democratic Congress NDC was in opposition. Sadly, Kevin Taylor made it clear that Williams Anarfi Sarpong is using that picture he took with the former president some years ago to scam people in the Arab Countries.
Even though his grace period has elapsed, Kevin Taylor has given him the redemption period to come out and distance himself from the President before he (Kevin Taylor) will hold another program on his show.
Now to William Anarfi Sarpong, your 24-hour grace Period of making a public statement by distancing yourself away from President Mahama has elapsed. With all these allegations, Williams Anarfi Sarpong is yet to respond to those allegations against him from Kelvin Taylor.
If the claims from Kevin Taylor happens to be true, then Williams Anarfi Sarpong will be in a serious trouble. It is against the laws of the land to use the picture of the President to portray what you are not just to scam people and take their money.

Another health care initiative proposed by President Mahama, known as the Ghana Medical Care Trust Fund, aims to support individuals with chronic illnesses such as kidney disease, diabetes, hypertension, and heart conditions by providing financial assistance for their treatment.
It seeks to improve chronic disease management in Ghana by improving infrastructure to enhance access to healthcare services, increase health awareness and fostering community engagements.

Former Asante Kotoko defender Awal Mohammed has voiced his frustration over the current state of Ghana’s two most successful clubs, Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak.
The ex-defender lamented the decline in the management of the two giants, claiming that their reputations now exist only in name rather than substance.
Although he admitted that Kotoko and Hearts are the biggest in Ghana, he retraited that the status does not reflect in their actions but just by word of mouth.
“This wouldn’t have been the situation if Kotoko and Hearts managed themselves well. They are the biggest teams in Ghana, whether we like it or not. But currently, that ‘biggest’ is just by mouth.”
Awal’s comments are in reaction to the imminent return of Ghana Premier League after a brief halt, despite the FA not adhering to demands made by Kotoko and Hearts after the death of Kotoko fan Nana Pooley.
Once celebrated as the powerhouses of Ghanaian football, the two clubs have struggled to consistently perform at the highest level, both domestically and on the continental stage.

A new report on gender representation in Ghana’s media has revealed that only 14% of experts interviewed in 2024 were women, with some media houses recording as low as 3% female expert representation.
The Women Experts in Ghanaian Media report for 2024 also found that women make up just 24% of presenters, and that male presenters continue to receive significantly more airtime than their female counterparts.
These findings will be the focus of a major conference set to take place in Accra on March 4, 2025.
The event, organized by the Ghana Women Experts Project with support from the British Academy and City St George’s University of London, will bring together policymakers, journalists, and civil society groups to explore solutions for closing the gender gap in media coverage.
Speaking ahead of the event, Nana Ama Agyeman Asante, Project Lead for the Ghana Women Experts Project, stressed the need for action.
“The media plays a critical role in shaping public perceptions and influencing policy decisions. If women’s voices are consistently underrepresented, we risk reinforcing existing gender biases,” she said.
The conference will feature panel discussions, keynote speeches, and strategic planning sessions aimed at addressing the challenges outlined in the report.
Organizers hope it will serve as a catalyst for concrete commitments toward a more inclusive and representative media landscape in Ghana.

A coursemate of the late Joana Yabani has shed light on the reason behind her decision to end her relationship with Daniel Tuffour, a situation that has sparked widespread discussion. According to the coursemate, Joana’s breakup with Daniel was influenced by her father’s visit to KNUST, during which he strongly opposed their relationship.
The source revealed that Joana’s father, upon meeting Daniel and assessing his background, disapproved of their relationship, believing that his daughter deserved someone with a more promising future. The father reportedly advised Joana to focus on her studies and avoid distractions that could hinder her academic and personal growth.
Following this advice, Joana allegedly distanced herself from Daniel, leading to their eventual breakup. This decision deeply affected Daniel, who had been emotionally invested in their relationship. Some close friends claim that he struggled to cope with the separation, which took a toll on his well-being.

According to a Report from Adom Online, In a recent interview February 5, 2025, Mahama Ayariga, the Majority Leader and Member of Parliament for Bawku Central, addressed the controversial remark made by a member of the Minority in Ghana’s Parliament. The remark, which referred to one of his colleagues as the “daughter of a murderer,” has caused significant uproar. Ayariga revealed that he was alerted to the incident while on his way to the studio, with a report and a video clip sent to him. However, he emphasized that he had not yet had the opportunity to view the footage.
“I received a call on my way to the studio from someone who reported the incident to me and actually sent me a video of it. However, I haven’t been able to watch the clip yet,” Ayariga shared.
Despite not having seen the video himself, Ayariga made it clear that the situation was serious and would be investigated thoroughly. “We will investigate it and take a very stern action on it,” he stated, reaffirming that the matter would not be taken lightly.
This remark comes amid heightened tensions between the Majority and Minority factions in the Parliament, highlighting the ongoing challenges of fostering respectful discourse. Ayariga expressed his commitment to holding MPs accountable for their language in the chamber, emphasizing the need for decorum in Parliament.
“We must maintain decorum in our Parliament. Remarks like these are unacceptable and must be addressed with the seriousness they deserve,” Ayariga insisted, underscoring the importance of respectful interactions among lawmakers, irrespective of political affiliation.

The founder and leader of Glorious Word Power Ministry International, Prophet Isaac Owusu Bempah, has revealed what he recently saw and heard
Speaking to his church members on Sunday, 2nd March 2025, Prophet Owusu Bempah stated that there are many prophecies and revelations, but only a few pastors interpret them correctly. He said John Mahama would transform the country and make Ghana a better place. He also noted that some men of God receive divine messages but interpret them wrongly.
The prophet further spoke about something he recently heard regarding what the NPP allegedly tried to do after he (Owusu Bempah) prophesied that they would win the elections. According to him, a lady visited his house and told him that the NPP had traveled to Nigeria to consult the country’s most prominent pastor for help in winning the 2024 elections. However, the pastor declined, stating that he could not assist them because Owusu Bempah had already chosen the NDC.
Owusu Bempah emphasized that John Mahama is God’s chosen leader for Ghana and pledged his full support for his government. He admitted that he only recently realized Mahama’s true character and now acknowledges him as a good person.

Prophet Isaac Owusu Bempah is known for making prophecies about Ghana’s politics, including predictions about elections and leaders. Many people believe in his prophecies, but others criticize him for being controversial. He has had issues with some politicians and pastors in Ghana. Despite this, he still has many followers who respect him.
The Executive Director of Child Rights International (CRI), Mr Bright Appiah, has commended President John Dramani Mahama for his unwavering commitment to Ghana’s Free Senior High School (SHS) programme.
He described the President’s stance as a crucial step in ensuring equal access to quality education for all Ghanaian children.
In a statement signed by Mr Appiah, CRI strongly opposed suggestions from some stakeholders that boarding students should start paying for their accommodation and feeding.
He cautioned that any such move would undermine the core objective of the Free SHS policy, which is to remove financial barriers to secondary education.
According to him, shifting costs onto parents would go against the very foundation of the programme and could lead to greater inequalities in the education system.
“Any attempt to shift financial responsibilities onto parents defeats the very essence of the Free SHS policy. This initiative was designed to promote inclusivity, and altering its structure could deepen inequalities,” Mr Appiah stated.
During his State of the Nation Address on February 27, President Mahama reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to strengthening Free SHS rather than making changes that could limit its reach.
He made it clear that his government had no plans to scrap the programme but would rather focus on addressing its challenges to make it more effective.
“Mr Speaker, let me be clear—I, John Dramani Mahama, will not cancel the Free SHS programme. Instead, I will strengthen it by addressing its implementation challenges,” the President declared.
His assurance was aimed at calming concerns raised by parents, students, and education advocates over possible reforms that might alter the policy’s original structure.
CRI has been vocal in defending Free SHS, warning that any major changes could weaken its impact and exclude children from low-income families.
The organisation insists that the policy must remain intact to serve its purpose of making secondary education accessible to all, regardless of financial status.
Mr Appiah urged the government to resist pressure from groups pushing for adjustments that could place additional financial burdens on parents.
He stressed that the integrity of Free SHS must be preserved to ensure that every child in Ghana has an equal opportunity to succeed.
“Preserving the integrity of the Free SHS programme is essential. We must not allow policies that could erode its impact and create further disparities in education,” he emphasized.
“As discussions around the future of Free SHS continue, CRI remains firm in its advocacy, determined to ensure that the programme stays true to its mission,” he said
According to him, the organisation believes that Ghana’s education system should focus on expansion and improvement rather than policies that could bring back financial obstacles for students.
President Mahama’s commitment to Free SHS has been welcomed by many, especially parents who rely on the programme to secure their children’s education.
Mr Appiah welcomed President Mahama’s ‘Teacher Dabrɛ’ Initiative to boost education and also to enhance teacher welfare and improve education quality nationwide.
“President announced that no new school would be built without teachers’ accommodation attached, ensuring that educators have better living conditions, particularly in underserved areas, and this is awesome, “
“These measures will not only motivate teachers but also ensure that students, regardless of location, have access to quality education,” he said

NDC National Chairman of the Zongo Caucus Working Committee, Alhaji Said Sinare
As the sacred month of Ramadan begins, former Ghana Ambassador to Egypt and Saudi Arabia, H.E. Alhaji Said Sinare, has urged Muslims across the country to dedicate their prayers to President John Dramani Mahama as he takes on the monumental task of reviving Ghana from the economic and social devastation left behind by the Nana Addo-Bawumia administration of the NPP.
Alhaji Sinare, who is the National Chairman of the Zongo Caucus Working Committee of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), made this passionate call in his one-page Ramadan message going viral on the Internet, emphasizing that Ghana’s current state demands not just leadership but divine intervention.
The respected politician and former Member of Parliament lamented that the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration left Ghana in economic collapse, with record-breaking corruption, skyrocketing debt, high unemployment, and struggling businesses. He described their governance as reckless and deceitful, accusing them of running the country into an abyss of hardship and hopelessness.
“It is no secret that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia left Ghana in ruins. Their failed policies, corruption, and mismanagement have suffocated Ghanaians, collapsing businesses and destroying livelihoods,” Alhaji Sinare stated.
However, he assured Ghanaians that despite the economic crisis inherited, there is hope under President Mahama, whose leadership is committed to restoring stability, creating jobs, and bringing relief to suffering families.
Addressing Muslim communities, Alhaji Sinare stressed that Ramadan is a time of deep reflection, sacrifice, and prayer, urging them to use this period to pray for Mahama and Vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang as they work tirelessly to fix the mess left behind by the previous administration.
He particularly called on the Zongo communities, reminding them of the unwavering support Mahama has shown them over the years. As the founder of Zongo for NDC, Alhaji Sinare has personally visited over 4,000 Zongo communities, campaigning for Mahama’s return to power to bring back economic stability and social justice.
“I charge all Muslims to pray for our President, John Dramani Mahama, that Allah (SWT) may grant him wisdom, strength, and divine guidance to rebuild Ghana and restore dignity to governance,” he said.
As Muslims across Ghana observe Ramadan, Alhaji Sinare urged them not only to pray but also to support a government that actively prioritizes their welfare. He warned against allowing the failures of the past to repeat, stressing that Ghana cannot afford another era of incompetence and deceit.
“Our country is at a crossroads. We must stand united, in faith and determination, to ensure that we do not allow another government that prioritizes corruption and mismanagement over the well-being of Ghanaians,” he declared.
Alhaji Sinare concluded his message with a prayer, asking Allah (SWT) to accept the fasts of all Muslims, bless their efforts, and guide Ghana towards a future of prosperity, justice, and true leadership under President Mahama.
The journey through university is often filled with struggles, especially for students battling financial difficulties. For Collins Osei, a graduate of the University of Ghana, this struggle was more than just a phase—it was his reality.
However, his story took a remarkable turn, thanks to the selfless generosity of Prof. Ransford Gyampo.
In a heartfelt tribute shared on Facebook, Collins recounted his difficult years at Legon, where he often found himself without a place to stay, unsure of where his next meal would come from.
The weight of financial hardship was almost unbearable, but in his darkest moments, Prof. Gyampo became his saving grace.
“I remember the first time I walked into your office—a young man full of dreams but drowning in hardship. I had no idea where help would come from, but you saw something in me. You saw a young man determined to make it despite all odds.”
Prof. Gyampo’s generosity extended far beyond words of encouragement. He took practical steps to ensure Collins stayed in school, helping him with accommodation, food, and financial support.
“🔥 You paid my residential fees when I had no place to sleep.🔥 You gave me money to buy food when I didn’t know where my next meal would come from.🔥 You fought for me when they said continuing students could not stay in their rooms for the next semester.”
One of the most unforgettable moments for Collins was when Prof. Gyampo personally called him to confirm that he had secured a room for him at the diaspora hostel.
This simple act of kindness showed Collins that he was not just another student, but someone who truly mattered.
“Prof, you called me oo! That moment made me realize that I was important to you. You never ignored my cries. You never turned me away.”
As a token of his gratitude, Collins vowed to never stop telling the world about Prof. Gyampo’s kindness.
“Anywhere I stand, any pulpit I find myself on, I will mention your name. I will tell the world how you changed my life.”
Collins concluded his tribute with a heartfelt prayer, asking for God’s blessings and protection over the professor who had transformed his life. His story serves as a testament to the power of selflessness, proving that one act of kindness can change a person’s destiny forever.

President John Dramani Mahama has directed the task force organising this year’s Hajj to channel any extra money that would be realised from the pilgrimage into charity.
At a sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of a permanent Hajj Village in Accra on Friday, President Mahama said the Hajj, one of the five pillars of Islam, was a spiritual journey of purification and not a profit-making enterprise.
“I have instructed the task force that Hajj is not a business. Hajj is not meant for profit. The Hajj Task Force must not structure things in order to make profit. We don’t want any profit from Hajj.
“So, I have instructed that after the performance of Hajj, if there’s even one cedi left, that money should be donated to the poor or used for a project in the Muslim communities,” President Mahama said.
The Hajj Village, scheduled to be completed in 24 months, is a multi-purpose facility to host pilgrims before they embark upon the journey to Saudi Arabia.
The facility would come with fully air-conditioned pilgrims hall, where pilgrims would undergo pre-departure activities, a modern ablution area, a mosque, a clinic and accommodation.
“This will be like a terminal building. A smaller version of Terminal 3, if you like, where departing pilgrims would be checked in from where they can directly board their flights,” President Mahama said.
Since being charged with the responsibility to oversee the activities of Hajj as Vice President in 2009, President Mahama said he had been committed to seeing the Muslim Ummah embark on the sacred journey with dignity and in a conducive environment.
“This project has been on the drawing board for a long time and I thank Allah for allowing me to see this beautiful dream fulfilled,” he stated.
The President, meanwhile, disclosed that he had instructed his legal counsel, Marietta Agyeiwaa Brew, to start processes to draft an amendment to the Public Holidays Act for approval by Parliament for an additional holiday to the Islamic holidays.
“Therefore beginning this year, there will be two holidays at the end of the holy month of Ramadan,” the President assured the Muslim Ummah.
